The Build

In most typical cases, you can download the newest Anaconda build here. This includes a curated set of popular data science packages (e.g. NumPy and pandas) that are ensured to work in the installed environment.

If you prefer a lightweight build, look into using a Miniconda setup (found here). This setup only has Python and the conda package manager.

The Logistics

We will be working with and making a lot of open source code. That being said, I strongly encourage you to have either a GitHub or BitBucket account setup beforehand.

The Time

With the ebb & flow of academia comes the constant need to restructure and reschedule group meetings. Generally speaking, LIE will meet every other week on the 2nd Floor of Palmer Commons, 100 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.

Each meeting will take about 1-2 hours. While a short tutorial pertinent to that week's task will be presented, the main purpose is to link up with fellow members and work through the problems, do code review, and explore innovations in the code. Be patient, as we are all learning together
